Blue Mesa Fishing Report: Boating access is near!

It has been a weird winter with a variety of conditions on Blue Mesa and the lake never completely froze.  However, the boat ramps have been iced in for most of the winter.  Currently, the west end of the lake is almost free of ice, but from Elk Creek to the Gunnison River inlet is socked in with mostly bad ice.  We are anticipating a fantastic year for kokanee salmon based off of last year and what we have seen come out through the ice last winter!  Stay tuned as we will update the best we can as things progress.  It is easier for us to post updates to our Sport Fish Colorado facebook page so be sure to check in!
