Blue Mesa Fishing and conditions report: Blue Mesa Ice won’t leave!

Thick ice, extra snow, and a cold spring that won’t warm up have all contributed to an extended ice season and delayed boating season. The Gunnison basin snow pack currently sits at 160% of median and the lake is anticipated to fill within 10′ of full this year which is great news! So far, we aren’t sure when the boating season will begin, but we are hoping for the first week of May! With that said, we are booking lake trout, trout casting, and kokanee salmon trips for the spring, summer, and fall seasons! We will be updating the conditions as we know more so please check back often.
